About the event

Guest Speaker Eppo Eerkes:  Directory & Producer - Black Badge Studios

Eppo’s current project is Return to the Falls, the story of residential school survivor, Elder Betty Ross. This is a deeply personal and deeply emotional account of a young girl being torn form her family and trying to survive and make sense of the strange world she was thrust into.

Known as a strong and innovative visual storyteller, Eppo Eerkes has directed and produced numerous dramatic films, documentaries, and series for major networks — including Discovery, History, Animal Planet, CMT, OLN, Global and CTV. His recent film ENVY was nominated for best short film production, best original score and Eppo received a nomination for best Director at the Alberta Film and Television Awards. He also directed, co-produced and wrote the critically acclaimed documentary Blood, Sweat and Beers for TVO. Among his other major credits are History’s USA Mega Disasters and the Gemini-nominated A Day Inside: The Calgary Stampede. Eppo has an ongoing commitment to further hone and develop his craft by working on projects which inspire and explore the human spirit.
