Established in 1984, the Beaverhill Bird Observatory (BBO) is the second oldest migration monitoring observatory in Canada. Their extensive long-term datasets enable the BBO to track changes in bird populations, migratory routes, breeding success, and survivorship.
Our guest speaker Xavier Quantz has always loved nature and being outside. His love for birds only started a few years ago, but it didn't take long for this passion to become all-consuming. Besides birdwatching, Xavier enjoys backpacking and botany. His favourite birds are the LeConte's Sparrow and Mourning Warbler.
