About the event

Our final Speaker is Historian, Catherine Cole

Catherine Cole

Local histories that tell a larger story

Catherine works on the lesser-known stories of local history – particularly the stories of women, immigrants, working class and Indigenous people – and places local stories in a larger regional, national and international context. She will focus on several recent arts and heritage projects: GWG: Piece by Piece, Edmonton Packingtown, and Mill Woods Living Heritage.

Catherine C. Cole has an MA in history from the University of Alberta and has been a heritage consultant working throughout Canada and internationally for 30 years. Previously, she worked in the Solomon Islands, was a curator with the Provincial Museum of Alberta and Historic Sites Service, as well as Parks Canada in Ottawa.
